The stables were a series of long rooms entered from the east, excavated as Area 7. The main passage was paved with cobbled stones; on the south wall a line of feeding troughs or mangers with Nabi Musa stone bases was preserved. The other internal walls probably also had similar mangers. The northern room was slightly larger and may have had another function. In the south wall were a series of stone piers, two of which stood on reused architectural elements from a much older building. This portico may have been preceded by foundation of north-south walls.
